Terms & Conditions of Service

These Terms govern the provision of pre-hospital and patient transport services by JACE Ambulance.

Provider of pre-hospital and patient transport services.

1. Scope of Services

JACE Ambulance provides pre-hospital and patient transport services, which may include:

  • Emergency, urgent, and non-emergency ambulance transport
  • Event medical cover and standby services
  • Inter-facility and private patient transfers
  • Clinical support services within agreed scope of practice

Services are provided in accordance with applicable legislation, professional standards, and internal clinical governance arrangements.

2. Clinical Care & Scope of Practice

All clinical care is delivered by appropriately trained and authorised practitioners operating within their regulated scope of practice.

Care is provided in line with approved Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs), organisational policies, and Medical Director governance.

Not all services include advanced clinical interventions. The level of care provided depends on:

  • the nature of the service booked
  • the clinical level of staff assigned
  • patient presentation and clinical need

JACE Ambulance does not guarantee the availability of specific medications, procedures, or specialist interventions unless explicitly agreed in advance.

3. Requests for Service & Acceptance

All service requests are subject to availability, clinical appropriateness, and operational capacity.

JACE Ambulance reserves the right to decline, delay, or modify a response where:

  • the request falls outside scope
  • safety risks are identified
  • inaccurate or incomplete information has been provided

Emergency situations may require prioritisation based on clinical urgency.

5. Transport & Journey Conditions

Seatbelts and safety restraints must be worn where fitted, unless clinically contraindicated.

Patients may be accompanied only where clinically appropriate and where space and safety permit.

JACE Ambulance reserves the right to refuse transport of:

  • aggressive or unsafe individuals
  • persons under the influence where safety cannot be assured
  • items or equipment not agreed in advance

6. Charges, Fees & Payment

Fees are agreed in advance where possible and are based on the service provided.

Additional charges may apply for:

  • extended waiting times
  • changes to destination
  • additional clinical resources
  • late cancellations

Invoices are payable in accordance with agreed terms. Non-payment may result in recovery action.

7. Cancellations & Delays

Clients should notify JACE Ambulance as soon as possible if a service is no longer required.

Cancellation charges may apply depending on notice period and resources committed.

JACE Ambulance is not liable for delays caused by factors beyond its control, including:

  • weather conditions
  • traffic incidents
  • third-party delays
  • major incidents or emergency surges

8. Infection Prevention & Safety

All reasonable infection prevention and control measures are followed.

Patients and accompanying persons are expected to comply with safety instructions provided by staff.

JACE Ambulance reserves the right to implement additional safety controls where required.

9. Complaints, Concerns & Feedback

JACE Ambulance welcomes feedback and is committed to addressing concerns openly and fairly.

10. Data Protection & Confidentiality

All personal and clinical information is handled in accordance with GDPR and applicable data protection legislation.

Information is shared only where necessary for care, safety, governance, or legal obligations.

11. Limitation of Liability

JACE Ambulance accepts responsibility for care delivered in accordance with applicable law and professional standards.

The organisation is not liable for:

  • outcomes arising from incomplete or inaccurate information
  • refusal of treatment or transport against medical advice
  • delays outside reasonable operational control

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where exclusion is not permitted by law.

12. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Ireland.

Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
